In response to her own experiences as a survivor of domestic violence, Jennifer Jones founded Hagar’s Heart in May 2020, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting women in crisis. The organization’s flagship initiative is the “I See You” box, filled with luxury self-care items and handwritten notes with positive affirmations. Hagar’s Heart has since grown significantly, partnering with over 11 shelters and delivering thousands of boxes to women in need. They also organize events like “Carry the Joy,” a purse and bag auction, and the Women’s Day brunch, which provide essential funds and support for self-care needs. Jennifer’s ultimate goal is to ensure that every shelter in the DFW metroplex and surrounding areas can access I See You boxes. Additionally, the organization offers programs such as “Read, Relax, and Renew,” which supports children and mothers in shelters, and the “Hagar’s Heart Pop-Up Shop,” providing women in residence with free clothing. Jennifer’s personal experience has fueled her passion for helping survivors and educating the community about domestic violence, and she encourages volunteers to get involved with Hagar’s Heart to make a positive impact.
